Windows Xp Home will not allow new drivers or hardware to be installed.?

I am actually working on another person of the machine, it is fully updated Vaio XP Home with 512 MB Ram, a lot of hard disk space, and an Internet connection.

His computer seems to be "slow lately" what I learned from my flash drive with his bag of tricks. No go. Add a new equipment has been refused to find new pilots still done manually to / system32 / or system, nothing.

So I uninstalled the USB devices, after reading that works (apparently, no other new USB devices worked for this type)

The USB is resettle. Neither a simple flash card reader, I removed a device manager. Windows Update finds nothing, reboot does nothing. It has only one hard drive (not fitted with a system partition for backups, must be something Vaio) and a DVD player.

Software: He had a spyware scanner that I TrendMicro replaced by Windows Defender. During this process, I also installed AVG antivirus. No firewall or other small security software at all.

Try to find drivers for the laptop and see if it has its drivers for USB devices ... if this thing does help, guess you will have to reinstall Windows to know with certainty that its OS not a problem, but rather a hardware problem.

i do not know, but here are three things to try

1. Remove connection password (XP)

=================
Click on Start - Run - type "control userpassword2" and run it.

In the menu, select administrative group Debugger

Uncheck the box above

In the next screen, make sure Admin is the username. Let the rest blank.

I suggest this, because hotel debugging is a very powerful admin rights.

Then, the owner can set up user accounts in the Control Panel so desire.

2. Safe Mode boot

=============

Slowly, press the F8 key while the computer is turned up

Just after checking DMI files occurs on the F8 key point is the computer to a menu where the safe mode can be selected.

Note
mistake if you press F8 key again, it will continue throughout starter to normal

Scroll and select the last known good configuration.

3. XP - checker system files

====================

System File Checker (SFC). It can also be carried out in safe mode if you prefer.

To run SFC, close all applications such as Office, Messenger, Email, etc, and go to:

- Start

- Run

- Type sfc / scannow (including the space before the "/")

What does
SFC is that it tries to correct or replace the operating system critical files. Sometimes it can be done without the installation disk, but you May for operating system installation disk. If so, then you know that you certainly file major corruption or something missing. Insert the disk if you're invited. So you have to run SFC using the administrator account.
