you can check prices and then see what your local computer stores. Sometimes, you pay more for a name, so that it can be exchanged from time to time.

dual processors are the way forward, but it all depends on what you want to spend.

The link above is a good, but the machine at moderate prices. If it is not dual core, it will happen well rendering video and others. It is a great way to start, because it has a P-4, 3 GHz hyperthreaded chipset capable of using up to 2 GB of RAM and a 16x video card PCIexpress for less than $ 500. While May components that you do not need to come to this platform, you can add what you need that you can afford.

If you want to learn some things on equipment and capabilities try

Between
Toms, your local library (for example, "desktop reference - and Google May you be able to build your own if you're willing to do research 11,111 first and foremost, if you considering buying parts and assembling them yourself, I would like to revisit ... you talk about components expensive and if something goes wrong, it would be a good idea to have the support of technical support and good Warrenty a good PC ... but your equipment. .. Core 2 Duo are the best at the moment ... choose the one that fits your price range. Asus is a good motherboard manufacturer Gigabyte is like any other ... And do research and see what others are saying about the options you look. I've never seen a card of 1 GB of video ... and you can say (as I do much of the same thing you speak) a 256 MB card is more than sufficient. But if you want 512 ... go ahead. 2GB of RAM is good ... 4 GB would be excellent. Although sure to buy in Twinning series (two identical chips in the same package). I had good luck with Samsung readers ... I bought in the past because they have a better guarantee, but other makers are about made with them in this regard ... all hard drives are the same ... if your work is essential to the mission ... I would recommend a mirror or RAID Drive Setup. As for LCD ... We recommend go into a store (best buy) ... to find the monitor you like and then go online and find the best price ... thats something you have to see to know with certainty.
