Should I create a RAID configuration?

I am adding two new WD hard drives in my system, which has only one right now. They will all 160 second gen SATA hard drives. Either a total of three.

I am currently dual boot xp and Vista, and have had no problems yet.

I am a bit lost as to what configuration to use. At first, I thought about setting up a RAID 5 configuration, but now I am not so sure.

Would it be better for me to simply add that ordinary readers and use them as needed? Who is going to affect my performance?

Or should I go ahead and create the RAID system, and configure it as RAID 5 or RAID 0 1 perhaps?

I use the computer for much of the game, Crysis, CoD4 etc, but I do a lot of watching movies HD, photo editing and storage for backups and software etc. I a mobo compatible RAID, and the manager of Intel Matrix Storage On disc, so I have all the necessary technical.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated seriously, I have to lose what I should do for the better ......

You need not only to rip a DVD, but also a decryptor and decracker. Otherwise, most protected DVDs refuse to copy. I
CloneDVD as a ripper / copier and AnyDVD as having defeater protector.

For its dvd a little more complicated, you need to use programs like DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter or DVD Fab to make a backup copy on your hard drive. If one of them does not succeed (because of the encryption), then the other should work fine (especially DVD Fab)

Try using something like 52% Alcohol Alcohol 120% or create an image of the CD on your hard drive. You can then mount the image into a virtual CD to save you having to use your original disk or can burn the image of a CD-R disc for backup.

Why are you replacing your hard drive? If you need more space and want a larger car, you can copy all your data from the old to the new drive when you install the new hard drive. I have two hard drives in all my computers. You need to make a decision about what you want to do. Re-install windows on the new drive and re-install all your programs or copy all your data from the old to the new. I just install a Maxtor hard drive, and it was delivered with the software to copy or clone the old drive. I also use Drive Image readers and the image of Norton Ghost to clone them. The installation of two hard drives is not hard, you just have to make the new drive master and the old disc "slave" by changing jumpers near the power and data connections. Good luck.

You must save the installation disks of the computer manufactureer and from any software that you bought from. To download the software, you must save the installation file before installing the program.

Your other option is RAID or image backup. That's where you make a complete copy of everything on your hard drive, and in this way all your programs still work if you have to recover. Cheers

If you use Windows XP, you already have the ability to create restore points on your computer. Right-click the My Computer icon>> properties>> tab system restore

If you are interested in backing up your important files .. As documents, bookmarks, music files and so on. So your DVD burner is a great way to go .. The DVD will 3.2Gigs typical data ... You can probably save some money and at the back of your data regularly, up to a CD-R that holds (depending on what you get) 650 - 800mb which is much more space than the average Persons My Documents folder holds, and they are much cheaper than DVDs are You can burn a few copies.

I suggest you keep a file of all the installation disks programs. If you buy software from the Internet, then you might want to burn the installation program on a CD and put it in your binder incase you ever need to reinstall everything.

These are cheaper and easier solutions. A roll of 25 CD you probably will not work a few bucks ... If you buy a roll of 50 or 100 they get even cheaper ... Pennies per CD.
DVD are backwards compatible so that you will be able to use CD-R in it.

I work for a computer company that uses slow computers in their offices in order to save energy. So, I bring my laptop every day and had transferred my files and so I guess my work is not stored on the servers of the company and, therefore, if my computer crashes, I am DEEPLY screwed.
Please can you recommend a cost and time effective solution where I can put my data at the end of each day to avoid the loss of data from crashes and these (Software apps)? There are external drives / DVD-CD etc but they take much too long and you always need to worry about space.
Also, my laptop (much faster than the company) is still rather slow freakin times (especially during startup, and if I did perhaps more than 3 word docs and 2 browsers open, Forget it) .. I thought Adding ram ... It will make a big difference? Where can I buy so that it works well and is cost effective?
