Oops. I copied "System Volume Information", and can't remove it.?

With my desktop PC, I was using WindowsXP BACKUP, make a backup copy of a small hard drive (for a laptop), and I burned the image file on a DVD.

So I wanted to test, by unpacking all the files in a temporary folder on my desktop. Everything went well, until I wanted to delete the temporary folder.

A folder named "System Volume Information" is there, and it allows me not to delete it. It is in a temporary folder, which I created from scratch.

I tried safe mode, I tried NTSF DOS, and everything like that. No chance. I'm screwed!

Hard Disk Drive Enclosure Question?

Old program, desperate need !!!?

I resently had a hard drive go wrong and that the technician repaired my computer program erased. I have backups of data, but can not find the software for the program anywhere. Does he know of a way to find software programs that are no longer available by programmers?

How to do a partial restore of Windows XP Registry?

Recently discovered that all my "Modify / Delete" buttons have been wacked. You've already learned the register the location of these keys. I do not have Win XP "restore point" available

Cheers I think it is possible under Windows XP. First, create a batch file or script format your backup drive. then go to


Start-> all programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> scheduled tasks.

a window appears showing the scheduled tasks (for my pc, it has no scheduled tasks), click on "add a new task" and then tell the script or file you just created. after that, you ask when the program would be implemented. set it before making the backup, then the end. Now, you have a scheduled task!

Problem with "explorer.exe"?

I recently installed a software ... which has something to do with "normaliz" file (or sumthing similar). How can I make backups of my own DVD? They are the ones that I personally own and I want to make backup copies of them for my own staff (100% legal). But they say "this DVD is protected against copying." I bought it so I should be able to make my own safeguards to keep it in a safe place ... I just need a software that will, without discussing with me. Suggestions?

I bought a beautiful new hard drive 250G. Once I had installed, I went (Moved be the key device) all my pictures and songs of the former HD on the new one.

perhaps only 2 days after the transfer of files, the new HD from some clicking noises and scratching. It sounded as if you had a 3.5 "diskette and pulled the lid and has quickly and repeatedly.

Long story short, the files have disappeared and the disk can not read. J 'I called Seagate for help, they said it was probably a mechanical failure and ~ $ 1000 I could get their data recovery. Restoring or recovering data lost during a crash using windows98?

Hi, someone can save me quite a headache and working hours redo old? Our computer that we use for printing labels for placing on our bakery crashed yesterday and label data was lost. I have a back in place which I tried to recover, but a message is something like "backup set contains the types of files unknown, please check and try again" A very small number labels were resored way, but short of all that should be there. The backup disks are fairly well used and it could be that they are past, although the data seem to be there when I hit "explore". Someone at the bakery said that WindowsXP has a feature that can restore data on its position a day or two earlier. Since our label computer is fairly old and runs on Windows 98 my question is whether this function is available on 98 or if it is a program I can install to do so? A box of baking goodies to the success of answering that can help me solve this problem: o)

actually quite simple. Just follow these steps:
First, open iTunes without the iPod connected. Next, go to Preferences, then click on the iPod. then simply select the option that is no automatic synchronization. From there, open Windows Explorer. you can open that in start / accessories / Windows Explorer. Next, select the drive that your iPod. then select all the images and click the right button. then select the documents to send. It will copy all your photos to your documents. Then you can move it as you wish. If you want to sync automatic return, but a copy of all the photos in your iTunes library. Then, when you automatic synchronization, photos will not be deleted. Ben

copyrighted dvds and trying to burn them?

I just want to burn a copy of a DVD movie. I use an external drive. I DVDShrink to decipher copyright dvd. I am using Nero for the software, but I'll still get the point to be burned.
That's what I did. First, I open DVDShrink and click Open disc. I then click Save. that all takes as 20 minutes. Then I close and I open Nero and go make your own DVD-Video. What is the best brand of DVD burner (hardware)?

Can I get some opinions on the best brand / model of DVD burner (hardware)?
The DVD burner I use now (Sony) is not functioning properly.
When I make a (legal) backup copy of a DVD, the new DVD copy will not play on one of my 3 DVD players at home, and it will not even play on the burner DVD, which has created the backup.
I am looking for one that is more compatible with all DVD players at home.

- I use RipIt4Me, DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink and Nero for the software. I do not think the software is the problem. And I tried several brands of DVD R media. Any

care to comment on the best brand / type of blank DVD media to use?

DVDFab done an excellent job on the subject, but I'm not sure if there is a free version or not. The most common (and free) are probably shrinking DVD and DVD Decrypter. They can be used as a combo or may be used separately.

Something else to consider is a program such as AnyDVD. It can decode levels of protection so that the discs are copied. DVDFab does not need a program like this, but not DVD Shrink, I did not use DVD Decrypter point I am unaware if AnyDVD is necessary.

I know nothing about Nero Essentials, but I found the Ashampoo burning software to be very good and easy to use.

replacing a bad version of windows?

my brother had an illegal copy of Windows XP for longer. So I went out and got him a legal version. I installed it on his new backup disk (which will become the main engine when everything is said and done). When I copy the files over, the main engine backup disk can expect more of everything? Burn data to DVD+-RW without upgrading CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive?

Is there any way for me to burn about 30 gigabytes of data on my hard drive for some DVD RW, I bought without upgrading my CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive to a multi - CD / DVD? I am thinking in particular of any software on the Internet, free or commercial, which allows me to back up the data on my hard drive to some of DVD RW discs.
