DVD Movie, DVD data is a bit like normal in the folder on your hard drive or a CD of data. Unless of course you look at a copy protected OEM Disc. In this case, you can not do that.

I am trying to backup offices over a VPN?

I am running Windows SBS 2003. I have a good relationship, once connecting my VPN. I am capable of remote office for the two end points.
Then, I try to return through the management tool on the server. When I try to choose the destination of return, I can see the end point network icon, but it will not run at the end of the server or workstations available in the network. Therefore, I am not in a position to choose Backup disk server endpoint.

I think the best way is to buy one from the outside just hardrives plugin to your computer (USB). Cd road is limited by the space available on the CD about 4 to 8gbs at best. It is often not enough room to back up the data on your computer. I notice, prices are falling on those units. They usually come with some software. If it is using windows xp and you have a core curriculum backup that will allow you to back up the data on your computer, then make further safeguarding of information that is new when you once again. Clone should I use or disk image backup, are they doing something different?

I heard "Clone Disc" Clones the HD to another, so it's an operating system on another hard drive and you can choose the start and for a complete copy of your operating system working there .. Then

"Image Backup" only create an image file that you have something to run or restore your backup.


I do not know if what I is actually said / what / them, could you give me a lil more info on this subject, which I use to save? Thanks,

Problem With Windows Backup?

I try to make a backup of 6 GB of data to dvds. Nerobackitup plant my pc so I was included in the backup of Windows I installed my xp disk.

I can choose to go through all the files, choose the location of my drive, insert a blank DVD, but when I click back up I am told that I can not use the name, and I can have access to the site.

Is there something really obvious I do or not to recommend another person, preferably free, backup software that dvds.

I need to make an initial backup and incremental.

I am looking for a solution to backup files to my laptop. I need the program / script to be able to copy the files open, not lock files in a proprietary format (make a backup mirror type). The solution should not require the installation of any software on the computer.

On CD / DVD, and if using Windows, you can put all your files in a compressed, and then protect it with a password. If you want to hide the names of files (not just prevent opening files), you should place the compressed folder inside another folder packed with a password.

The only file you need to "back-up" are data files. Basically, if you put it in "My Documents", then you should make a backup. Any software that you install is already saved, to the extent that you have the installation disk. If you lose your hard drive, you use the disks to reinstall the software and then you can use to restore data saved all your documents.

1) Single Layer: 4.5 GB capacity
2) Double Layer / Double Sided: ~ 4.25 Gbytes per side / layer

At the moment, you will not find a DVD containing all 8 GB that you want to save in a single layer per side. If you want to take the road to double layer, you must ensure that your computer and your burner support this option. Finally, if you simply reverse, many DVD authoring software companies offer a built in function only when the backup, will split the backup data across multiple disks if necessary.

solution is to use imaging software such as disk or norton ghost acronis trueimage, which will copy and compress your entire disk or partition to a single file, and if something goes wrong with your PC you just restore the partition, and it just brings back how it was. There is no way to do it for just one application. It must be the operating system and applications whatever you have opted for the installation on the driive / partition that you chose to save.

Do not know any other way of doing what you want to do.

There are two excellent commercial software for this - and norton ghost acronis trueimage.

On the free side of things there are a number of programs available

You need to download and burn to a cd boot, and then the CD.

Partimage

Burn / boot cd

This is great, but it is not capable of cloning of a larger and a smaller hard drive, work with disk partitions, or to establish or restore the image files (locally or not). If thats not your case is what Id recommend.

Bon reliable diagnostic software requires many hours to write and is expensive because of the hours of work required for the post. That is why I do not recommend something free as diagnostics software and hardware. Let's face it you get what you pay for and if you want to take a chance with something you spend hours to make and save important files, do you not think that it is worthwhile to put a little 'money? Also good CD store cheep programs are not in themselves.

I want to setup a backup system for around 100 users. Help PLz...?

Holy cow. * You * do need some serious help. Well, if that is how the backup made by advantrix, then this is probably not what you should use to an environment of this size. Not if you really want to sound, practical backup solution. You would be classified as a small business. Is increasingly backup for home users or small working groups seeking to safeguard their own computers on CD or DVD's. You need a backup solution to the tape library. At the very least, a tape drive. But this will be dictated by the total amount of data you need to backup and the amount of time you have to do in (aka your backup window). That is the first thing you need to know. You will also need a backup application. Something like symantec backup exec, bakbone netvault, ca Arcserve,� all this depends on your needs and budget. This is just a preview 10000 feet. There are so many details involved with this type of task. And it is no small. But to answer your question, backups should be scheduled after opening hours of computer systems and networks, are the least used. Data must be saved in the end to a means physically transportable, like the ribbon. Multiple copies should be made without at least one of them being stored safely off-site disaster recovery.

There would be a lot of manual steps to convert them all, but they are programs like to do everything for you :-)

Unfortunately, the "small business" does nothing to describe your current computing environment. So, it would be quite difficult to help.

You did mention what OS you use, if the servers are in dispute, or any indication of the speed of your network ...

built in Windows software backup, but I do not recommend you use it.

I do not recommend that you come in contact with a supplier who can setup a meeting with one of their sales and technical teams Do you talk through the various options to find one that meets your needs.

I can not get the best answer lay not only for a few names of backup software or their companies ... But thats ok.

You can learn more and get better options having someone come in and analyze your infrastructure. And they do it for free, and if you show interest, you might even get a free meal on their part.
