I am trying to find some sort of software that is easy to use preferably in a single download if I can put my collection of movie DVDs one by one in my laptop and copy them into the computer, and I know that they will be security, and therefore in the future if one of my original disks damaged i can put them back on white discs.is there any software that can do this? I need to restore my computer to its original components is i have an image file that I crazy using norton ghost which has all the original software my problem is that I need to make a cd to boot at startup i do not care if I have to lose all my files. I have problems with my laptop. I need to save files as a result of having to reinstall my software (that someone else does it for me because I am stupid computer). I started backing up files from the other night and sat there forever and have not yet halfway occurs. I also used a lot of discs ... That was crazy. How do I backup all my personal files (voice, text, video, music) scattered across my computer?
I have tons of files, including many duplicates (which i am noclone using the software to get rid of) ...
I would like to have all my FILES, no matter where they are, whether jpgs, qcps, wav, mp3, doc, xls ...
I want to return all up - but it does not seem the tool that will make it easy for me ... I can use windows research, but I am afraid to mention a bad file type (for example, a palm or a file format arcane i hardly use it as ppt) ...

I would personally do everything on CD or DVD or external drive. But if you choose to partition the drive and put all your files in there I want to make sure you have a backup of these files, as on CD or DVD. When you start messin with the reader, data can be damaged in the process.

Making backup of vista off my comp, I want to save it and install xp?
Im tired of Vista! The portable was almost 2 months, the search for compatible software is a nightmare, and although her vista compatible does not mean shit. Best refused to buy even if the guarantee of its issue of software for computer and im concerned that the software may cost me more than its value. Compaq server shows 15 scsi tape drives in device manger, but there's only one!?
We have an old ML370 running Windows 2000 (I know, I know, I just started here, it's on the list of upgrade). We can not get the BackupExec backup software to run, apparently because the windows of declaration is 15 tape drives, even if there is only one internal SCSI DLT installed. Friends say the driver or software installation, but it was only the backup software. Nothing else. Strangely my very old iBook can detect withiut install anything!make sure your hard disk is formatted. Also computers with 24-bit can not recognize dealing with volumes above the capacity of 137GB. This is important because hard drives can be recognized not only on the size of the volumes. If your BIOS does not support the newer 48-bit addressing you just have to partition the drive into 3 or 4 volumes (available capacity should be 372GB because 1 GB = 1024 MB not 1000MB). An easy way to check this is to find volumes (aka readers as c: \), with a capacity exceeding 137GB. Bottom line is to check the manual.

Turn off External Hard Drive via Software?
I have an external hard disk Western Digital, which I have access to only a few times a week for backups. It has a rather noisy fan that I find boring, which is why I would like to be able to turn it off when not in use. I do not want to unplug and plug at any time.

Upgrade hard drive in Laptop - Dell Latitude C600?
A friend of mine asked me to install a new hard drive in its Dell Latitude C600 with XP Pro. The original idea was to install the new disk and reinstall XP on new drive.I I have not done this before on a laptop to keep with me. I wonder if this caused problems with the activation of this with Microsoft. I also saw laptop hard drive upgrade kits, and wondered how they worked. The ones I have seen are a little expensive. It seems that they are all is a simple external hard disk enclosure with the backup software. Can we just use an external hard disk enclosure and the use of cloning / backup software such as Norton Ghost or XXClone.

Looking for an external hard drive for backups. Which is better "IDE" or "SATA" format and what is the diff ?
I have an old but fully loaded Dell Inspiron 9100 Laptop and the need to put in place a system backup on a regular basis. I am currently using "Acronis' backup software. I had some problems with none other than Norton products. I was hoping that the software Acronis could "wake up" the laptop from my mode, perform a backup and return to standby mode. Unfortunately, Acronis is unable "wake up" my system. Fortunately, it does do a wonderful job of creating disk images. However, I am still hoping to find a program that can wake up my system, make a backup and allow the laptop to go into standby mode. I am told that I should just leave the laptop on 24 / 7, but it is quite warm and waste electricity is turned on all the time. Thank you for your comments or suggestions. Steve

I am trying to burn a copy protected DVD. I used DVD shrink to analyze it and I made a backup file of the DVD.

I have two readers both 1Gig inch.
Drives E: \ populate was with a little work on stuffs so I moved a big chunk of information to drive F: \ approx 410MB of information.
Everything went OK.
Delete the files of E: \ that are no longer needed.

im somewhat new to the computer and would like to know how to backup my files so i can do a system restore?

Is it possible to develop a free/open source and legal CD/DVD mastering and DVD solution software?
I plan to develop a free and open source CD / DVD mastering software in the future with the following features:
1. Burn all types of discs (data, audio, video and CD / DVD)
2. DVD authoring and video editing / conversion.
3. Audio / Video Player (DVD includes the decoder can not be used with other video player)
4. Backup computer files.
5. Creating ISO file.
6. Copy (does not support DVD protected by copyright.).
I will not use the GPL. Instead, I will create my own license and included the following sentence: "This software should only be used for legal purposes. If you try to do something illegal with this software, including but not limited to the protection of copyrighted discs, developers of this software Not to be responsible. ". And the person who modify the source code must submit the compilation and non-compiled source code for other developers to get approval before they can transfer it to any website.
If functions are illegal, how to make it legal but not eliminate?

Anyone have a suggestion on software to create invites?
I was toying with the idea of being able to make my own wedding invites because I had a really cute idea that would involve my own design. I always invite him to look professional, but does anyone have any good suggestions on the software or sites that help you develop your calls and such? Completely Deleting NERO Burning Software?
I deleted NERO Burning Software and am still having problems
I get a popup error message when you use windows movie maker
He said "NERO" can not find "advrcntr2.dll"
Where can I find the rest of the program in order to remove this step again to get this error message when you use windows movie maker.
Here's what I tried
1st. I deleted everything I could find in the file containing regedit NERO
2nd. I deleted everything I could find in the file msconfig
You do not know what else, I know he has to be coded, but I do not want to remove the bad thing. .
Anyone have this problem, which can help ////??

Question about norton ghost,I wanted to make a backup to my exsternal drive for my primary?
Does it also copy the registry and the hard drive, because I can see how if the registry is not backed how you would have nothing but problems if you reinstalled the backup disk reformatted clean drive.I award experience and as such, I 'm still having to reformatt my drive. Yes there are several ways, dvd shrink is the easiest, and also free. Google just find a free download, not to join a group, just download it from itself. It IS there i promiseDVD Shrink deals with most, however, you will hit some protection not working. You need for some DVD DeCrypter as well. Do not even try to copy disk drive, much faster to draw it to your hard drive, then burn.
