How to Install Kubuntu 7.10?

allwin,you wrote
I have a disk Kubuntu canonical. I am thinkinf to use it as a secondary operating system to Vista in the case of a BSOD (blue screen) in Vista.

I do not want one of my software or deleted Vista and I do not have a disk partition (only C: and D: D Mais: backup is used for recovery). Now the question is how to install it with the frame?

please help.

It would also be useful to know more abt BSOD .. Please search

, it is generally not quite as simple as that of making a dual boot. I will propose another first. It does not use the CD, but it will offer a similar experience.

When you talk about Windows, it makes different demands on your computer as Linux. Among other things, it does not always tell you on the disk where it is the backup files, and it requires its own files kept in some places. Whether you use your hard or not, save and VISTA RUN HARD defragmenter. The latter is very important. It could save important files on the area you want to partition.

Ubuntu Linux Geek proposed on these pages a program called Wubi installation, which installs Ubuntu from Windows, and is much safer than handling yourself. I did not make a dual boot Ubuntu from before came out, I've never used (and I am completely before I could get a dual boot to work by whatever means, but installation of a new hard drive) but I've told some friends and one of them loves me to put in place. Getting on:

It installs Ubuntu (Gnome) on the net. Kubuntu is KDE desktop. Once you're running Linux, connected to the Internet, make a "sudo apt-get update" and a "sudo apt-get install kde." Then you just log out of X-Windows (the newspaper the selection on the menu), look on the screen to select, click on the menu and you kde-po

site:

covers the evolution and suggests downloading ubuntu-desktop. Same thing. Here's another page:

It saves you the hassle of repartitioning. It is a huge problem.

Nevertheless, it is something to discuss the case. It is a very good tutorial:

It is also this:

Read them before you consider repartitioning. But Wubi consider carefully.

since D: is used as a backup, you will not really problems ... just be sure everything is saved.

now precede the installation ... when prompted by ubuntu to format / partition ... selected drive C: \ ... if the name of "C" show custom in this process, it is up to you to figure it out ... if your C: is your primary, it would show there primary ... after selecting C:, you can now install Kubuntu ..

if everything yuor in C: is deleted, I think .... you can restart the heart using backup disk ...

another great option is the installation of ubuntu in your flash drive (USB) ... at least 4 concerts I think.

or attempting to use SLAX, Slax is a portable Linux that do tneed to be installed, it is enough to burn an ISO image of it in a CD or flash drive. another Linux is DSL (damn Small Linux), currently it is the smallest Linux operating system available.

iamwhoam method to remove Windows vista your computer!

There is an option in the setup program to resize the C: drive and use the spaces released. Choose that if you do not want to delete vista.
