replacing a bad version of windows?

my brother had an illegal copy of Windows XP for longer. So I went out and got him a legal version. I installed it on his new backup disk (which will become the main engine when everything is said and done). When I copy the files over, the main engine backup disk can expect more of everything? Its Internet connection is through a wireless link, but he lost the software. So, I wonder if he needs to get new software or a copy of his files make it more too. Only

files are moved, not programs and settings. You will need to install all the drivers and programs from scratch on this computer, and purchase programs that you do not have the CD / keys.

For drivers, you will go to support the computer company (such as HP or Dell) who built his computer and download all the drivers on a computer that has access Internet and then copy them to say one inch USB Drive and the new installation of Windows.

Regarding the parameters, you'll either reset all from scratch or to locate the parameters set in.

If the old copy of Windows is still underway d ' running on this computer, you can start to that, download everything you need at a location on this computer, then start the new copy of this computer and install from these files.

If you manufactured a PC, you have to go in search of drivers for each type of equipment. Worse cases with the wireless card, you can always go buy a new wireless card, but not always help you with the settings.

If you do a clean install of Windows, you must re-install all your drivers for the different materials you have. If you look online on the model of its wireless card, certainly pilots will be undertaken on the site.

You can not just install windows, and copy files and assume it will work well. After Windows is installed, the upgrade process / driver installation modifies files / registry values of Windows that are beyond simply copy and paste the player A to B.

In general, do you want to copy more files like photos / videos / songs / documents .. etc. Nothing specific programme.
