What is a decent external hard drive for backup PLUS photo storage?

Answering to your comment
Can I ad internal backup drive, then put it in an enclosure and use it on other computers without losing all the data on it? I read that most of the loans made external drives have enough lame software on them.
There is a USB where you can install a hard disk or CD / DVD devices. There is a wonderful, 5.25 "USB 2.0 PREGNANT. Buy a hard drive and install, the enclosure must have an installation manual to guide you. That way, you will have a hard external hard, and you can save all your files according to the size of hard drive installed. Best of all is that It's like you are using an flash.drive that you can take with you and connect your hard drive with a USB port on any computer, the manual has the details.
Good Luck.
