Network backup?

Xyph asked:
Is there software (preferably on free!) Who let me my backup server to a client PC? I just want to implement this as a fail safe that we can not quite how to off-site storage, but they need something other than tape backups

Cheers
fast and fault ways to achieve ...

Share disk (either of the machine you want to back up or the machine you want to save.)
Connect the hard drive of the other machine
Use a batch file copying (or xcopy) anything you want to copy to disk shared drive.
If you need to add the Windows scheduler to automate the runof file bat. It

assuming you have Windows at both ends.

If it is Linux, it is easier ... You mounting nfs / cron / rcp / scp / tar and so on ...

If it is mixed, the use of samba and let the end see Linux Windows disc, and then use things like Linux above to copy.

Or you can find backup utilities for Windows given on the cover of most computer magazines discs ... Check what is available in your local bookstore / supermarket. You can find a cheap cut-down version that will work ... PCPlus for example in Britain have called a working copy / license for Paragon Exact Image7 SE with number 248 (November 2006) ... In the hope that you buy the full product.

take a look at True Image version workstation, I think you have a very good result. You can easily store images anywhere you like (FTP, the different types of storage devices, etc.)

Yeah ... I agree with Michael because True Image is a very good choice for you, but unfortunately it is not free.

I can only agree with michael n. True Image Workstation is the best solution for your problem. It is't free but I think you will not find free software for the same quality.

-I use Winrar in a batch file to save the important directories.
Since I have been using a batch file, then I can use Task Scheduler to execute a full backup, incremental and also run Spybot, AVG, temporary files, cleaning, defragment five computers and to arrest them all on a NAS drive.
