How can I get Windows Vista "Backup and Restore" to work with a Truecrypt-encrypted external hard drive?

I used Truecrypt (open source very popular encryption program full, free download) to encrypt an entire external hard drive. When I need to access the disk, and I connect it to rise with the desktop software Truecrypt, which rides together as a virtual disk volume (for example, "M" drive). Windows recognizes the drive remains (for example, "E" drive), but thought the windows E is unformated player, but can be accessed by car M smoothly. I can copy files to disk M, watching movies off, even to safeguard FILES without problems.

The problem arises when I try to use the built-in Windows Vista (last) "Backup and Restore". I want to create a disk image of my laptop computer, and save it on the external drive (plenty of room for it). BUT, when I make a backup and restore, it fails to recognize Drive M! Doh.

I am out of luck? Should I start another backup program? If so, any recommendations? Thanks!

(From old blog's comments)
I am not very familiar with Vista's "Backup and Restore", but if it creates an image of your hard drive and puts it somewhere, you should be able to create the image and store them temporarily in another location (not Encrypted or location Ordinary plugged into the reader agrees that Vista), and then copy it into your encrypted TrueCrypt volume. Obviously, you have to copy it back to the car from the encrypted disk clear if you really need to recover from the backup. You also could not use this method unless you have another drive that you can use to temporarily keep the backup image (depending on the size of your disk image would be OS, you may be able to specify that you want to put in a directory on your hard drive). I never met a program that has failed to recognize a TrueCrypt volume mounted as a hard, but again I do not use "Backup and Restore" is! Hope it all works. Maybe try another backup utility?
