Anyone familiar with free downloadable software that can dvd copy protected dvd's? Or a program that can convert dvd format. Vob films pc readable in any format and compressed, and so on. Mp4,. MPEG,. Avi,. Mov, etc?
I just want to make a backup of my original DVD so I can use this if friends want to borrow the film and I do not need to give all original. I do not want to see scratches and fingerprints of marks on my disks. The least I can do is to compress the dvd hdd or portable so that they can watch on their PC instead.

AnyDVD is the program you are looking for.
Breaks protection and burns directly on your hard disk to watch them burn ro.
Another program, you can use called DVDShrink. It is equally good.
But if you use both programs at the same time, it is better than any of them alone.

Maybe you can use a DVD Copy applicaion to copy the contents of the DVD on the PC. I have a job well Daniusoft DVD Copy, it is the best way to copy DVD movies in excellent quality DVD copy (D9 to D5 and D9 to D5). I think here
You can try, but it is not free, as one of the best DVD ripping software.

then you can have a try this dvd ripper, it can copy DVD movie content on the hard drive and convert them avi, mp4, mpg, wmv, 3gp, etc.
It can rip any dvds many it is protected or not.
