Can I use my iPod classic as a backup?

from you comment
I will be upgrading my Mac soon Leopard and a backup of my important files is recommended. Can I use my iPod 80GB classical to do? Also there any software I can use to help me create a backup copy?

I improved my macbook Leopard, and everything was so perfectly executed, I will not backing up and everything was intact.

But you can certainly use the iPod as a backup, it is essentially an external hard drive.

This is a good backup tool for you. Good Luck, if you need extra help shoot me an email

Use your iPod as a hard drive

Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
When the iPod icon displayed in the iTunes window (below Devices), select it.
If the Summary pane does not appear, click on the Summary tab. Click on the button marked "Enable disk use," then click Apply. Close
iTunes and iPod notice that appears on your Mac desktop or Windows Explorer on your PC.
To eject the iPod on a Mac, select the iPod on the desktop and drag to the Trash.

To eject the iPod to a PC, select the iPod in Windows Explorer, right-click on the iPod and choose Eject from the context menu that appears. Or in the bottom right corner of the screen, click "Remove Hardware safely icon.

Maybe music and photos. But if you had a Sony PSP with a memory card 2 GB, you can save more different types of files. The memory card can contain a large number of different file types. But it can only be accessed with a computer. Try burning the files on a disk and printing on the other ... Or send them to an e-mail address so you can access them at any time. Good Luck!

I either buy an extra hard drive (those who are good to have anyway. .. I had a best price $ 70) or a leap car (travel by car, jump stick ... Everything whatever you want to call it) Hold a lot.

An iPod can be used as an external hard drive, so you do not need a flash drive or an external hard drive. You do not need any software to do so. Simply locate the music files on your computer and put them in the hard disk iPod. If you had a PC you want to go to Start> Workstation went to the iPod Drive - if it happens on the Mac version of my computer.
