My disc drive is not working is there anyway I can backup my files on-line without paying?

I have software that keeps an eye on my safety, and it tells me that I do not have a backup program. My computer has a manager backup and recovery, but when I tried to return to my files so far and on a disc (DVD gig 4'7), he said disk too small and does not give the option of using multiple disks. Now my hard disk is not working can I return my files anywhere without paying that I refuse to make financial transactions on my computer. I tried to use the backup drive in my laptop and a dvd neither worked.

You should only need to back up your files. Backing up the entire computer takes an enormous amount of space - and is not necessary. You can install Windows and things even if he dies - everything is here for your files.

Now - if you want to backup stuff online - go and have a look for some free web hosts. They are designed for hosting websites - but we could set up files, too. Normally, you need a Web site, or they will kick you off - but you can add a simple website, and your files, then run up there.

But if you want to save the whole pc yet - it's in vain. A 4.7G DVD is too small? Well - most of the hosts on the net are much smaller than that. Even very large - because I take days to return it to the Internet.

And if you are on dial-up (like some people, I do not know) that it will take years.

Better do yourself a USB flash drive (flash stick your thumb drive, flash drive, lots of names) and paste your files on the matter.

Or ask a friend to come techie with his PC, network them together, and copy your files on your PC.

Hope that helps.

And incidentally - millions of people are using computers for financial transactions. You use your credit card when you go to the grocery store? It is a computer system.

Do you use an ATM? It is a computer.

And you know what? They are the type of computers that would aim to hackers - because that's where the money is.

But each to his own ... If you surf a lot of dodgey websites without adequate protection, then I can understand why you would be dubious about the use of confidential information on your PC.

how big is your file? Are you sure you have rewritable DVD player? Or perhaps you do not have the right software for backing up files?
