Retrieve Data From Formatted Laptop?

I formatted a laptop computer and installed Windows 2000.

I then discovered that the CD is corrupted.

Is there any software or way to get my previous data on the desktop?

there is a service for making such things, but it costs a pretty penny ... do a search on the net "Data Recovery", and find the company and price range that suits you best. its very simulate that the federal government do to recover deleted files ... but if you installed a new operating system May it is almost impossible but May be able to hang pieces for you ...
