How do I wipe out the hard drive of a Dell Latitude D610 laptop if I don't have the start up CD?

I have a list of notes that I can not know whether i hope ya'll can help me ...

Wipeout on the hard drive and make a new installation of Windows XP - then a driver for the system. Software Systems. System Backup - WindowsXP resource CD driver download support.dell.com

I understand most of it, but how? Plantage hard disk? I put in the disc and WindowsXP shut it off and turned it on, and nothing really happened. And I am not sure how to get the resources driver d / d since i can not get the darn thing online, due to some problems, it has to start, that is why I I have to be done. Trish

Hiya,

You are so close, but you missed 1 critical stage. Just after you power up and the screen comes to life a blue bar progressing across the screen from left to right. While it is on the screen, you have to press F12 to get the BOOT MENU OPTIONS. A list of choices will appear in a few seconds, the third is declining CD / CDRW Drive or something very similar. Scroll down arrow to highlight this option and press ENTER.

Now your XP CD starts and you can do the installation. One option after about 3 minutes is to reformat the existing partition. Choose this and make sure the NTFS format will be not a quick format.
I have a Latitude D610, and I support 600 D units in the series, they are very forgiving.

One thing I need to tell the world the answer is:

PC DELL restore the usefulness of symantec has never been installed on your system or any latitude. It was installed on certain ONLY Dimension and Inspiron computers, and never installed on any Series C or D-Series Latitude laptop sold in the United States, Europe or anywhere.

This utility is installed only on the following points:

Dell Dimension shipped on or after July 16, 2004
Dell Inspiron shipped on or after July 16, 2004

This information was posted by DELL on this page:

Trish, once you are done with the installation of XP you should install device drivers 2. These will be for Broadcom B57 Ethernet adapter and the adapter audio AC97. If you have the resources / Driver CD then you are covered. So you want to install the latest version of Intel Mobile and Chipset ATI Radeon Mobile (if present).

All the drivers of your D610 running Windows XP can be found on this page:

GOOD LUCK!
