HP Recovery CDs not recognising HP.?

I was a doofus and cds used for the recovery of another computer on my HP (which obviously did not work), and now the recovery HP cds giving me this message:

"This CD contains a backup copy of the software originally installed on a PC and HP Pavilion can be used with a PC HP Pavilion. If you are receving this message on an HP Pavilion, HP please call Support. "

I emailed support, but not really a lot of confidence in themselves a solution to this problem - I bought my HP in the United States there are about 7 years and returned to Australia with him.

You need real HP technical support - the one you get if you DO NOT use a telephone to call. Wait and see what they tell you - they can have a CD that allows you to correct the problem (or even a back door into the CD that you will do).

Have you ever in BIOS flashing? Sometimes, the updated BIOS will ensure CD recovery no longer recognize the system. It is a pain, but I have seen it happen.
If so, see if HP will send new discs, or if your CRAZY really find an old BIOS flash and pray for him and boots.

It seems that when you use the wrong recovery cd, it left residues on the HD so that your recovery is correct cd detect not as a HP Pavilion. Here's what I would advise to:

Try contacting HP Support to see if they can help you. Since HP is 7 years, I doubt help HP Support (warranty is no longer in force) and probably they do not want to waste their time because it is an obsolete model. It does not hurt to try until it is free of charge.

Try a disk utility software to reformat the HD - erasing the residue of the attempted recovery with the wrong cd. Try using the proper cd recovery.

If you have good experience and knowledge of computers, downloading the drivers of the HP website, reinstall the operating system and applications used cds.

If your PC is 7 years, then it is not an OS XP. It will be either Windows 98 or Windows 2000. Do you have any other CD, you must use in conjunction with the recovery CD.
