It depends on how they backup your drive.
If they have created a disc IMAGE, then you need to restore the image. This will make the new disc look like the old one.
If they simply copied onto CD / DVD, you can not only restore.

My drive is out and another had to be put in. I had the compusa back up all my programs and software. I do not have the original disk as it has been on my cpu by an aunt who had a license, and we are now in different states. Is it possible to restore it to my cpu with just the backup disk?
