Nasty Virus that threatens BIG registry problems and loss of data unless you BUY their software!?

I get endless pop-ups that look very similar to MS warnings and direct me to one of several web sites (regproscan, msreg on behalf of the 9).

It began with warnings and IE when I made my drive C crashed 8-9! I reloaded my op etc on a backup system BIOS, as hard did not even see my drive C even with a manual load.

I think it is in autoexec.bat or config.sys as a cookie.

NOT DNLD the software, because it will give them access to all your passwords and perhaps TOTAL control of your computer or network. If you use online banking, to say goodbye to your accounts.

I will try to find these guys and turn them into the AG! Any help with an IP or similar would be appreciated.

*********** YOUR COMPUTER IS NOT BROKEN LESS THAN IT TO GET YOUR ATTENTION ************* Mine works well, except for popups! ATTENTION.

sure to read Disabling Messenger Service in Windows XP from the Microsoft Web site if you use XP and receive messages. (If you get when running a firewall that you do NOT have to configure your firewall correctly!)

Something similar to that infected my brother's computer. He spent the Symantec Antivirus. The only way we got it is rubbing off the hard drive and reinstaling WINDOWS.
