Is it necessary to have a external drive to backup with norton ghost 10.0 software?

I just bought Norton Ghost 10.0 on ebay, but my concern is that, if I need an external drive or can I save using a data disk in my computer. With
or at any player who is big enough. Interneal or external?

I burn a CD once a week, but I run one of the 310 free OS. Or

This can be done in any direction, but an external drive, or at least a DVD player is the best way

No, you can place a backup copy elsewhere than in the backup disk of course!

No, you can do it on another disc.
BTW, I found True Image to be much greater than

Ghost It does allow you back to your backup disk itself. But you can partition, and safeguarding of this partition.
