I work for a small non-profit agency, we have around 30gig data that is currently stored on tape nightly and stored off-site. The problem is that we do not have to restore the proper procedure in place for the most part - the fact that we have no machines that can read the tapes and other servers which made them (and could be useless a back on track.)
So, I began to try to save the data on small USB flash drives. All data will be stored on tape from outside 30 concert, 20 of this is that the archived data we would not need access to the USB drive in an emergency.
Anyway, with a USB stick, it could simply hook up a laptop and get our data from there.
# 1 regarding security. I saw some flash drives have encryption equipment in them - what is the advantages / disadvantages and encryption software can tell from Norton Save
