Recover data on HDD that has been reinstalled with XP?

I have two hard drive on my pc. Primary and a backup. I reinstalled my XP Pro and I did not pay attention to what hdd he would be handed over, I find after the new installation has been done on my hard drive backup. Argh.

Is it still possible to retrieve the data? What software can I use which is available on the net?

(I tried to use Stellar but it seems like he can not see the actual contents of the hard drive and not the previous content.)

This is where you want to go. You can download a demo Restaurateurs 2000 and run it to see if it can find the contents of your research. Understand that these data may not be recovered if it was not too writing during the most recent installation, and only if you restore the data to another drive that contains the lost data. Can it be done from the same disc? Of course, but you will have the chance risk of losing data that the restaurateur software has found a refund if not to restore a side street. It displays all the partitions that have been embodied and what if anything is left to recover. The demo allows you to read the data, see that he is there or not. However, it does not allow you to recover until you've purchased the software. I've bought, and be completely honest this is a rescuer.

P.S. Yes it is a recovery software and it does not cost 1000. It would read that many new formats or partitions you have had. You'll find many other programs on the market. I am not saying that this is the best, I am sure this is not the best. Only it was that I found to be more functional for my needs.
I bought the PRO version. 49.99

most of the time if your hard drive is not partitioned, the new operating system will be the format that the data were stored on it before the operating system is installed, d other words .. idoubt u'll be able to recover

You did not say if you formatted the hard disk. If you've formatted, you will need a costly recovery software and even if you have not already, I pony money for recovery software because it could cost you one or several thousand dollars for someone to do so. Follow the instructions of software and good luck.
