If you want a good laptop, you will spend at least $ 1000.

search for at least 2 GB of RAM and 180 GB of hard drive memory. If you find that the rest fallow.

thats OK. this is not exacly a bargin but at the same time you were far from being uprooted. You have a very good laptop it well done, there are not many things you can not do about it. but you could perhaps have one for $ 600 -700 on eBay.
On the other hand, if you bought the same laptop in Europe, you would have paid the equivalent of at least $ 1400 for her.

Vista Home Basic sucks, Vista Home Premium or XP Home.

Most of the software list is only a free trial 90.

TIP: You can buy the extended warranty. The laptops are easily damaged by gravity!

This is not a bad price, but Dell has often focuses on the laptop if you keep an eye on these documents, May you get the same laptop for less. One thing I would change if I is the operating system. Do not yet Vista, it is not quite stable until they leave with the 1st service pack. More than 1 GB of ram, you will notice Vista runs very slowly. I have 2 GB of RAM and Vista still has problems with performance. It is a real pig. Put the OS to Windows XP if you will. Otherwise, you can try to go through this section of business, which I think you can put XP on any computers there.

It also depends on your age and how you will use other than music. If you are heavy in the graphic arts, engineering or physical sciences calculations, it is lightweight. If not, you have a machine that will do.

As a student, you can get a very cheap price, a copy of Microsoft Office - called a student version of your school library. They also offer software and other students. Check with your school to see what they offer and at what price. Armed with this information, then go back to Dell and other suppliers and see what they can withdraw is that duplication with a student editions. The price should drop a bit too.

Shop to other places and see what you can do. You need the Microsoft Windows operating system from the supplier, all other software is probably much cheaper than editions of students through your school. Software authors do to help you use and like their products - and then, after graduation, this makes you want your employer to buy for all employees.
