I am also willing to try shareware. If neither, I would be willing to buy software, if it is not too costly. Most software that I found not let you copy some files. Also, on my computer, it is a function Dell let me make a backup copy of my Windows XP Home operating system. It copies on CD. Whenever I try to make a backup copy, it stops part way. Nobody knows what I do?

unsure of the Dell thing. I think that instead of sweating the entire system backup, make sure you have all your software and operating system on disks in case of failure of hard drive or buying a new computer.
