Backing up hard drive to another INTERNAL hard drive?

kst, to your comment:
Is there a way to use another internal hard drive as one of those more expensive external hard drives (for example, Maxtor OneTouch).

I'm looking for a program that automatically copies files of the main internal hard drive to another (backup) internal hard drive. For example, the routine backup, save a file is changed or credit, etc.

Everyone knows of software that does this? (free?:)

What you want is an easy, inexpensive way to safeguard your hard drive. The cheapest way to safeguard your data is to mount another hard disk of similar size within your computer. An internal drive sells generally less than half the external drive.

First, open your computer and see if you have the space to mount another disk drive. Go see photos on eBay if you do not know what a hard drive looks. Secondly, buy one of the same size and type. Do not buy SATA (Serial ATA), unless what you have. Thirdly, mount it using screws and cables that comes with the box. Fourthly, format the hard disk using the CD that came with the box. Your computer does not recognize the new hard drive until you've formatted.

Assuming that you did this correctly, you can now save the entire contents of your hard disk by a simple drag and drop motion of your mouse. To do so, at least once a week to save your data.

-I run Linux, like Microsoft.com, Hotmail.com, MSN.com a fact, on 45000 computers!

Under Linux, just open a console and dd bs = 256kb of = / dev / hda if = / dev / hdc

Then the same type as a script in an editor, and Cron left running in time we are asleep.

yes, it's FREE.
