Macbook hard drive replacement?

In a few weeks, I will replace the hard disk of 80 GB factory in my Macbook with greater capacity. I will use the SuperDuper! backup software, but I have some questions:

1. I have a Freecom 250 GB external USB drive with about 120 GB free. Can I use to back up my hard drive, then use it to restore data to the new, or should I buy a FireWire 400?

2. Which way can start a Macbook (Firewire, wireless network, etc.)?

I guess you can Back-up to the external drive.

However, we must ask .. have installed your new (blank) hard drive, how do you expect to "restore" the data?
all, no operating system = no backup software = not restore :-)

maybe you have other device starter for example. floppy / CD? ... Over the backup software should make a start "image" on the media appropriate to the restoration ...

ok go on prefs system, then "Start"
should be able to help you from there. seems can boot from the network and external drives.
