Computer Crashed !!!!!! Help?

My computer crashed ten days back. Some damn. Dll in Windowsxp became corrupted. Lost all my data and information stored in four year. GRRRR! I had to re-install xp .. (Xp could not use the console recovery). I want to know the following: 1
. What is the best backup software, backup and restore everything on my computer? (Preferably free).
2. What is the backup option xp (understanding that the data backup takes a lot of space)
3. How do I prevent corruption program files? (I can carry out all the usual updated anti-virus, defrag, anti-spyware and scandisk functions fairly regularly .... all except the option backup .. (double Grrrrrrr !!!!) < br> 4. Also what is the best way to hide or conceal multimedia files (necessary for home videos)

Appreciate any help extended!

Thank You For starters protect yourself ... Go and download AVG Free, start a scan and remove all viruses. sure to configure it so it can run daily scans and automatically update daily and automatically. Next go to and download Windows Antispyware. Run a scan on it and remove all malicious software. Again, it would be a very good idea to configure it. If you want 110% of the performance of your PC and download go to trial 30 days free Tune Up. If you are an experienced user of a computer run across all services Tune Up, if you are not experienced that only use 1 - Click Maintenance. If you know what a crack or is keygen visits and downloads or a crack or keygen. Once you have cracked it Tune Up run it once a week. If you do not know what a crack is just remove Tune Up after him or after 30 days free trial are exhausted.

Please note: Remove all other anti-virus and anti-spyware before installing these programs. These are the best. If you know what as a crack or keygen is also seeking AVG Pro on crack and keygen sites AVG Free to do better. If you do not, it does not matter.

Save ... just copy all your files on a CD-R once a week. With this protection and CD you are good to go SAFE losing your data.

1. You do not need a back - up, you need equipment. get an external hard drive, plug it into a USB port (preferably 2.0), and save your files externally.

2. Show # 1

3. Are you all the good things already. corruption occurs.

4. Right click on the icon for the file, select Properties, select "hidden". Sub Tools - Folder Options - Display in My Documents select "Do not show hidden files and folders." Use this option to toggle view hidden files and folders you designate.

1 . In such cases, I use Norton Ghost diskettes.
I can put a picture of the overall score.
When you lose your windows that you can run again and Ghost
Restore partition to work with XP. It overwrites the partition
And you get your back-uped XP, but your files on C: are lost. (So I save my files on the partition D:)
2. Alternate way. Having a CD
live''avec''XPwindows which runs from the CD.
Lanch and get your files from where you saved.
3. systems usually I ' Operating 2.
Win2000 I start from C:
WinXP launch D:
When a system has crashed - only the second launch system and access your files .

Years 1), you can try to utilities

Years 3) Where am not using Firefox, and I suggest using it. After installing, go to Mozilla Add-Ons and install these 2 files:
A) Adblock Plus
B) WOT
You can also organize hours Firewall if u have one. If u do not, and i suggest or if you use XP hours ..... Then his already there. Now, within the parameters of the firewall hours, there is a place where you can authorize exceptions that can move hours firewall. Go there and uncheck everything that is unnecessary.

Years 4) You can try to download AxCrypt
Click on the setup.exe file

So if ur using XP, and can make right click and choose hours properties file and choose the attributes "hidden". Then go to Tools --- Folder Options. Select the View tab. In the list, there will be an option to "Show hidden files." Uncheck this option if it has not already been done.

Another thing, and can do is change the icon:
Right-click on the file and choose Properties. There will be an option to change the icon or to customize. Select it and change the icon. THen you can also try to rename the file to a name less suspect as' History Project "or" Revolt of 1857 'or something stupid.

I hope that the answer is not too big ...... After all, he had 3 responses in a post!

-I save by partitioning my HD. I have Norton Ghost (fixed on the high compression), to do the job of safeguarding the free partition and keep a boot disk ready for a full restoration. You can get a good 20-35% compression, which gives you an idea of what size of the partition must be. Or, you can use the C drive for OS and Apps and use the second partition (drive D), for storing all your data. That way, if you bugger the content of C, you can learn restore all your data on D.
