Why is that people buy separate backup software when Windows comes equipped with a backup utility?

ravi, youwrote:

Norton Ghost is not the only software backups.
There are many others. For example Acronis True Image (by the way, it is the software that I use for backups -
).
Every society creates something different, again, who wins over consumers.
The only thing perhaps low prices, or some extra features, etc. eg MS backup utility does not have differential or incremental backup option (if you want to know the difference between them and go full protection wikipedia.org). Also there is no online backup feature, which is quite useful.

If your computer crashes or you must reformat your hard drive, which should be done every year, you need discs

Are index. It is quite easy for me to make a copy of all the software that you buy, and keep backups of your files on flashdrives (for example).

free and shipped by Microsoft are not always the best.

I use iTunes, and not media player.
I have a firewall, not Windows firewall.

Etc. and so forth.

Backup Utility provided by Windows is not as complete or provide different options as some software that you can purchase. Norton Ghost is one example - I can make an image of my hard drive and load the image on different depending on whether the hard drives as I would - if the original hard drive has been partitioned-Norton partitions your hard disk with windows automatically when you Aura need to partition the hard drive before restoring your backup.

Because they have more features such as DR (disaster), virus detection, shadow copy, copy disk to tape functions, backup scheduling multiple jobs, the ability to backup open files, the ability to save SQL databases while in service, maintain a history of reporting with backups, etc.

Let me give you a little comparison to give you an idea.
=
Windows Notepad backup
Backup Software = Word

They both can create a document that you can print, but it has a lot more features. Maybe not Notepad anything to do or you may have some added features, and the newspapers that some other backup software gives you.

Hopefully helps you.
