What backup software will do this?

answering to your comments, kfoxcpa:
I am looking for backup software that gives the user once the possibility of creating an image of hard disk or backup and restore only certain files. Is there one that does both?

Nice to see someone concerned about safeguarding their data. It is much easier to restore from a backup than attempt to recover the lost data.

I always say: "If this is something you would feel really bad if you lost, you have a better backup."

A good backup program is free Comodo Backup. It will not create the image of the hard drive, but can save all files and folders on your PC.
Has a synchronization feature to help keep your backup to date.
A function to make regularly scheduled backups.

And best of all - it's FREE!

He has done a good job for me.

true image can do so easily. New version allow you to make images by clicking on a single button. It does not depend on what you want to save (only files, music, videos or entire hard disk) you just have to choose an option and clekc the button and all would be saved.
You can get free true image of the version 7 here

And after the upgrade to the latest, and save about 20 $

can be obtained through Symantec Norton Ghost 9.0 version. It has all the features that you require. I am an IT administrator, and we use this application on a daily basis and it works very well for what you are willing to use it.

I included a link that will give you real cheap.

I think norton ghost done all this. But be careful if you have a SATA hard drive. It will crash if the full backup is canceled or interrupted.

Depends on your operating system.

For 95, 98, XP using the backup came with my "nero" software for DVD / CD backups.
XP, NT using "NT backup" to a second drive.
Linux, it depends on the version.

MOST OS have a backup program, but as in XP, it is not automatically loaded. It is on the CD, "search" for NTbackup.msi then upload. It allows backups to a "device" or "record". I suggest using a second drive or other external device that allows you to get a copy when the system crashes! Save at least every week!

I think StompSoft PC Backup can accommodate what you are looking for software that enables you to customize the backups as well as the possibility of creating a "bootable disaster CD / DVD that can fully restore your system without installing De while the original software or operating system. "

Losing data on a hard drive is the worst nightmare of every owner. However, some hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself easily using the tools available. I found the news not exactly helpful
