Question about norton ghost,I wanted to make a backup to my exsternal drive for my primary?

Does it also copy the registry and the hard drive, because I can see how if the registry is not backed how you would have nothing but problems if you reinstalled the backup disk reformatted clean drive.I award experience and as such, I 'm still having to reformatt my drive. Just putting on the back windows is not a big deal but it takes me all day to get the computer to the way I want with all my software. Therefore, it would be nice if I could just erase the hard and just put everything back on.your comments are apprieciated

She is a clone of your hard drive, including the registry. When you get the image on your hard drive everything will work as it did when you make a copy.

I do not want to use Norton Ghost If I were you, but thats a personal preference. I bought Norton Ghost 9 when they acquired Powerquest and basically just took DriveImage 7 and doing a few cosmetic changes to the software and re badged as a product Norton. I could not get my activation code to work if I had returned. Norton unfortunately ending Powerquest, a rising star.
Here you can see the history of Norton Ghost:

A very good alternative, if not better, is 10 Acronis True Image found here:

that I and the keeper.

It's probably best to make an image before reinstalling the windows in case you forgot to put something right after all and you get your updates completed and installed all drivers. In this way, you can save time in the future if you need to go back to square one. Yes

copied the registry. Everything on your disk is copied because it is what is called an image. A picture understand anything, all 0 and 1 on your drive. In this way, not even hidden files, and data that are not in a file (in the registry) is saved.
