I have a computer that is about 6 years. old. It is still in good condition and working well. My question is this .... I downloaded and changed a ton since I bought it. It was the tone for downloads and software add-ons, various equipment installed and removed. I know there are a lot of junk put in place on my hard drive. What would be the best way to clean everything and start again? I have the backup disk that came with the computer when I bought it. I have several programs: Micro XP, IE, printer, camera, digital camera, tons of songs, photos and the family. How can I start over and keep only those programs? Then I put my pictures and music on a drive and then reformat the hard drive? Is it wrong for my computer? Can I reinstall my equipment (camera, printer) or will it still be there? I think the backup disk that I received was the basis of computer programs that began with (IE, etc.) What, in stages, do I start again? TY Everyone in advance!

put all your data on an external hard drive or data discs.
make sure you have the installation discs for all software you want to use.
restart with the Windows installation disc into the CD-ROM. choose to reinstall Windows and format the hard disk.
then once completed will go to Microsoft update several times, get all the security updates, install anti-virus and anti-spyware software. update definitions. install a firewall.
then load all your software and data.
if you use an external drive only maintain that the data of existence. you can connect the external hard drive to your computer and accessing data from there.
Whew!

When you run the disc, it will do as you wish, and you lose everything. So, first, burn anything you want to save on CD. You can not record programs onto a CD, but they will not work, you will need to reinstall the original discs later. After running restore your hard disk or windows, May then you must install drivers, which are files that tell the computer how to control various add-ons, such as sound and video cards, printers, etc. Then, you go to install your software. Now you can copy all your music and photos from the CD on your computer.

Take a backup of all data, you think is necessary.
Make sure you have the driver CD for all devices installed.
In Windows Explorer, the format all drives except the root? (OS) drive, click on the disk, select format full.
Now put Windows XP installation CD in the CD.
Run configuration. Follow the instructions.
Format the root disk after the restart and let continue XP installation.
Install drivers and programs for safeguarding data.
(For programs you need to have the installation files saved)
all the best. 2 hours at least.
hope it helps.
