Backing up to DVD?

in response to your comments
I need to save my entire system (laptop) on DVD. Can anyone recommend software to do so. I am running Windows XP Pro and will use and external DVD burner. Software suggestions?
If you have not already, I suggest you buy Nero 7.

Download Nero 7 trial (fully operational).

I can recommend Acronis True Image. It can save your entire PC with a single click. True Image allows you to store your backups where you want: everything HD, CDs, DVDs and other devices. Here, you can get a free True Image 7.0 Home:

Here you can read on True Image 7.0 and learn how to use it:

I can strongly recommend True Image backup software by Acronis. Using this program you can save not only the operating system and important data, but also your applications settings, Outlook files and library. In addition to burning DVDs that I recommend you also create a hidden partition on your hard drive and your backup data, too.

Sounds like you may want something like Norton (Sorry, Symantec) Ghost.

This allows you to clone your PC / laptop to one (or several) file (s) which can then be burned onto DVD / CD.
