The reason is that I just made a partition backup disk, but it is nearly 40 GB and took Nealy 10 discs. thats ok for emergencies but I would like first of all with a basic configuration. I have copies of my software I use, but the disc is crowded after a year of use. I know I can go through and delete what I do not want to, but even if I did that the system is a bit slow. I tried registry cleaners and controllers system, but it is still slow to start.
I would reformart and again. As the computer as new are installed with Windows XP I would like to return to this point. The restoration of the system does not return one year and I never thought to make a backup from the beginning.
ideas or solutions. As I have said I have a partition backup, but the system as it is today.

Your system should have come with a key XP disk and, if it did start on the XP disc and perform a new installation, your key must be on a holographic sticker on the side of your case.
If the key is not this download is free, when you download it just double click and click operating system, which tells you your product key
if n It is not possible, try this
Click on Start, click Run, type msconfig, and when the system configuration opens, click the Startup tab at the top and then click Disable all responsible (ne not worry, it usually stop anything running) and restart the computer.
when it restarts, you get a pop-up window, click Do not show this again and close the pop-up.
then open my computer and right click on your hard drive, click Properties, click on Tools, click search and check the two cases, then restart your system.
this done and move forward the entire scanning system.
which should significantly speed up your system.

and if you bought your computer, it must be provided with an installation disc for Windows XP or already stored on the hard drive. If he came with the CD simply put it in and follow the instructions ... if not then just read what it says when you first start up the computer. When he said the computer name, for example "Dell", it has different options such as the renovation or something like that. Read the various options. No.

ANWER easy. If the system works just add a slave HD, and maybe some ram. This will erase the problem of performance. Is it that a system back-up now so you can keep the operating system.
If you contact the manufacturer, they can send you a disc for your system. Usually free. as long as you have the same product key. If you built you can request a hard copy of Microsoft.

only save your documents and settings on a disk format and then reinstall Windows and all your programs, documents and settings. not need to safeguard the operating system

Based on my experience during all these years, to keep your computer running fast and easy, it is necessary to install a new copy of all windows 6-12 months (depending on how you treat the PC / laptop, the number of malicious software you install and uninstall, the number of software you use).
The main reason is that all the software you install, and everything you do every day, quite windows and resources files heavier and eventually lead to conflict. And when you delete them, somehow something disappears.
The best thing to do is to install a new copy.
Anyway, if you insist on restoring your own copy, recovery discs, mainly to provide you with this option if you want to repair your window or if you want all the hard restored At this point (which means that all the bits and bytes will be as it was, cleaning up everything that you currently have)
If you do not see this option, you open your May partition Safeguarding elsewhere and crush the file system, using a secondary operating system. (This is not recommended).
