Which is the best external hard drives for backups? and software?

Currently, I make tape backups, but want to switch to the backup external hard drives. I need to save about 300 GB of data, storage and exchange of my sql database and a complete backup of my C:

you need at least 300 GB backup. Get a 500 GB or larger external hard drive. I always look for one that is ranked 5 stars and a lot of comments. An external hard disk 1000GB costs almost as much as three 500GB hard drives externally.

If you have a home network, you might consider adding an old computer and on your network and use it to backup files on all your computers. Install in one or more internal hard drives with 500 GB $ 110 or less each.

I need to burn backups to software installed on my computer?

I know it seems incredibly ignorant, but I really do not know what to do. Some of these programs have downloaded and I have no CDs. Do I burn a copy of the installation program in form with installers and coins rar (compressed), or should I form burn a copy of these programs, after I installed? Who is a program in good shape on his original CD?

Does Windoes backup utility reinstall all programs on your computer when you use it if ?

I have all my backups configuration software stored on the hard drive.
Assuming you have configured to put a complete system, then yes. However, it will only restore a system that has Windows pre-installed.

Upgrading tape backup.?

I try to convence my boss to allow us to move from a 3rd NTBackup part of the program's backup software, such as Symantec BackupExec. I have been told that we are in the past using NTBackup, but nobody has ever explained why. Someone can help me understand why a 3rd party backup programs is much more robust than NTBackup?
PS It is a small company with less than 50 employees, but a large number of data to store.

Do you have a Backup solutions company?

From comments
Why do you use a backup software? And any recommendation ..?
Hi,
Backup software is used to protect your documents and other data from unwanted changes. And in cases where there is a problem with your computer, you can use the backup software for you to obtain documents and other data.
We wrote a small backup utility. If you wish, you can send me an e-mail.

What are some good backup softwares?

Another issue I sholud be found in the grocery store around one?
Look for the one who does good incremental backups, good compression boot and good meals. Also, find one that has restore points. Norton Ghost is a good choice.
